Objectives
- To create opportunities for lifelong learning, travel, empowerment and re-motivation for older people and people with disabilities and the organisations they work with.
- To work in partnership with organisations across Europe to raise awareness of the needs of the problems faced by an ageing population, particularly those living in isolation and those with disabilities.
- Create a new Trans-national Working Group comprising organisations and Learners, pooling experience and information to create a new good-practice Model for self-help and empowerment.
- Identify activities & new services that can reduce dependency & encourage wider community participation, to find new, innovative approaches through self-help Networks.
- Introduce the use of technology as a tool for empowerment & social inclusion. Using video-conferencing & other ICT advances, including Social Networking as a link into the wider world.
- Arrange local project visits, video-conferencing & exchanges to alleviate loneliness & encourage lifelong learning & community participation.
- Make recommendations to local, regional, national & EU policy-makers, agencies & institutions to improve services & reflect the needs of Learners.
- Devise Evaluation Strategy with on-going review at all stages, detailing results against targets, findings to be published in Final Project Report.
