Meeting in Bratislava

The fourth meeting of the Project Into-Active Europe was held in Bratislava, in the capital city of the Slovak Republic. 17 participants took part in this autumn meeting 

(6 – Action with Communities in Rural Kent, 4 - Fundación Diagrama Intervención Psicosocial, 3 - Seniors Handicapés Européens, 4 - Slovak Disability Council). 

During the first day September 18, 2012 all partners visited three examples of good practice:

  1. Slovak Blind and Partially Sighted Union - Among its missions belong the help to overcome the consequences of sight damage or loss of vision, it advocates the rights and creation of equal opportunities in each spheres of life, provides counselling and services, furthermore supports and develops activities - the purpose of which is a full-value life of people with visual impairment within the mainstream society.
  2. Institute for Labour and Family Research - where we shared experience with conducting of a disability research within collaboration of state research institution and non-governmental disability organisations.
  3. GERIUM - Care Home for elderly people, managed by town Bratislava.

Next day September 19, 2012 the participants compared legislation in the field of “State Pensions & Invalidity Benefits & Early Retirement Options”. Each partner of the project presented national legislation and after that we had a friendly and very fruitful discussion.
