About Us

Into-Active Europe, finding new solutions to age-old problems.

2012 is the European Year of Active Ageing and a group of severely disabled, elderly people from Nice on the Cote d’Azur are leading to way to find self-help solutions whilst researching new solutions to age-old problems.

The project, funded by the European Union’s Lifelong Learning Programme, Grundtvig, brings together organisations from Slovakia, Spain, the UK and France to explore ways of making life better for people with disability problems and those into the Third Age.

The four not for profit organisations represent a wide range of client groups but each has a driving ambition to help make better lives for elderly and disabled people across Europe.

Coordinated by Action with Communities in Rural Kent, the partners learn from each other whilst carrying out “Mobilities” to other countries. Each partner hosts the others and arranges a local programme to inform and inspire the others. A series of mini-seminars follows themes that include legislative and financial provisions in each country. Together the groups explore potential for good practice transfer to inform decision-makers.

The project started in August 2011 and runs unttil the end of July 2013.
